Do you avoid burgers? You can make your own! They’re actually the BEST!
Bread
Fresh or soft bread? If possible, fresh, but most importantly whole grain because it will be absorbed more slowly by your body. This will give you energy through the day and the feeling of hunger will come more slowly. If you do not wish to wrap your burger with bread, you can always try lettuce, tomatoes or grilled peppers!
Meat
The heart of the burger… many options! First, ask your butcher to give you lean meat. You can also go for the ground beef with 15 % fats, a slice of ham or even white meat like chicken breast. Or fish: a beautiful salmon fillet can be a real treat for your taste buds.
Toppings
Choose fresh and varied veggies. Follow the seasons! Onions, pickles, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, lettuce, red cabbage, peppers, mushrooms, and so on! The great thing about burgers is that you can create your recipes according to your taste.
Dressings
The burger’s secret is the final touch: the dressing. Avoid fat sauces like ketchup and mayo and create your own with endless possibilities like pepper, tabasco, organic tomato sauce, mustard, garlic, spices and herbs.
Sides
Forget about the french fries and choose veggie sticks to dip in delicious white cheese spread. You’ll be surprised when you’ll be asked to share them! And, finally you can also make some homemade vegetable chips 🙂
