The beauty of hair is affected by many factors, including genetics, age, medications, disease, and… what you eat!
Maïa Baudelaire, Nutritionist, Diet Coach, expert in eating habits and founder of her own method www.maiabaudelaire.com, gives you her tips to get nicer hair by watching your plate.
Just like your nails, your hair requires a rich diet in nutrients. A very low calorie diet could slow growth and even cause hair loss. So say goodbye to fad diets! But don’t panic if you pick up your hair in the bathroom! Most of us are losing 50 to 100 hairs a day. (However, if your hair loss seems important, see a dermatologist…)
For healthier hair, add the following foods to your menu:
- Eggs, dairy products, meat and whole grains (bread and brown rice) for vitamin B
- Fish, shellfish, meat and poultry, for zinc and copper
- Cold pressed oils, flaxseed, fatty fish like salmon, for their content of good fats
- Cruciferous (cabbage, broccoli…) for selenium
And above all, keep moisturizing well to prevent hair dehydration. So don’t hesitate drinking lots of mineral water and herbal teas !
Now you know everything food wise to have dreamy hair!
