Foie Gras with an Onion Confit

For 4 persons

Cooking time: 45 min

Ingredients :

  • 250g of foie gras
  • 2 big onions
  • 10 g butter
  • 1 tbsp. of sugar
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • Salt, pepper
  • 1 baguette

Steps :

  1. Peel and slice the onions, taking care to separate the rings.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the onions and sugar. Stir, cover and cook for 25 minutes over a low heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the balsamic vinegar and let it simmer for 20 minutes without covering. Add salt and pepper. Let it cool and then it put in a fridge.
  4. On a small slice of bread, arrange a little onion confit and place over a piece of foie gras.



Onion is rich in antioxidants.
